Writing Essays with the Military as a Topic

It is not impossible for a student to write a military essay in school. A student does not need to be in a military school just to be given an assignment to write military essays. The military as an organization is vital part of the society since it fights against a particular threat or enemy. Because the military is part of the society, any member of the human community, including students, it has been a subject of criticisms and praises alike, and of essays.

Military essays should not be confused with war essays. Although may sounds synonymous, there are exclusively different from each other; only that they are well connected to each other. As mentioned in the introduction, a military is an organization. War, meanwhile, is different since it a large-scale conflict between two or more organization. The military is a personality while war is an occurrence. Simply put, military essays deal with people, institutions, and personalities that have capacity to bring war as well as peace. War essays, meanwhile, deal with the conflict or violent struggle between opposing personalities or forces.

As what history depicts, the military is often used by political or community leaders to cause or settle conflicts. The military has been used by powerful leaders like Alexander the Great as well as mighty empires like British Empire to expand their territories. The military has also been used by powerful organizations like the United Nations to settle conflicts like the civil wars in Eastern Europe and Africa.

The military, however, is also evolving. Nowadays, the military does not only ward off threats against an opposing force, but also helps in the development and national defence of a certain country. During disasters and natural calamities, the military are often called to assist civilians or bring aid to a trapped community.

The military is not a boring subject to discuss in essays. One, however, needs to check facts when writing a military essay.
