Effective Tips in Writing School Assignments

Writing assignments is one of the most hated activities of young people. The main reason is that it takes away the time that they wanted to spend on non-academic activities like hanging out with friends, playing football or working on a part-time job. Writing assignment eat up a large chunk of a student’s time even when they are not in school. Nevertheless, a student has to write his assignments, whether he likes it or not. Teachers usually have two intentions in giving this out-of-the-classroom academic activity to their students: to educate and to assess. Classroom hours are too limited to educate and assess students, but teachers can use assignments as venue to accomplish both.

Here are some assignment writing tips that may help a student do assignments with ease.

·         The student should always follow instructions given by teachers or professors. Teachers or professors provide instructions to guide their students on how to proceed with the given assignment. Instructions may include assignment type, format and submission deadline. The student should always take note of the instructions given.

·         After taking note of the instructions, the student should approach the professor or teacher and ask questions on some things that may help him proceed with the assignment. He could ask for guidance, advices, pointers or tips for writing the assignment. The student could also ask questions on instructions that may seem vague to him.

·         The student could obtain examples of the given assignment and use them as basis for making his own. Examples serve as good guides in writing assignments, especially for those who are composing a certain type of paper for the first time. Examples could also be used to determine how a certain assignment should be written.

·         Planning is essential in doing any academic activity like assignment writing. Planning may eat up some of the student’s time, but it ensures that the assignment goes smooth and problem-free.

·         Before submitting the assignment, the student should review it first and look for mistakes on the syntax, spelling, grammar and punctuation. Well-written assignments should be void of any errors.

Writing Essays with the Military as a Topic

It is not impossible for a student to write a military essay in school. A student does not need to be in a military school just to be given an assignment to write military essays. The military as an organization is vital part of the society since it fights against a particular threat or enemy. Because the military is part of the society, any member of the human community, including students, it has been a subject of criticisms and praises alike, and of essays.

Military essays should not be confused with war essays. Although may sounds synonymous, there are exclusively different from each other; only that they are well connected to each other. The professors assigning the essay writing project will be very happy if their students clearly know the difference between a military essay and a war essay.

As mentioned in the introduction, a military is an organization. War, meanwhile, is different since it a large-scale conflict between two or more organization. The military is a personality while war is an occurrence. Simply put, military essays deal with people, institutions, and personalities that have capacity to bring war as well as peace. War essays, meanwhile, deal with the conflict or violent struggle between opposing personalities or forces.

As what history depicts, the military is often used by political or community leaders to cause or settle conflicts. The military has been used by powerful leaders like Alexander the Great as well as mighty empires like British Empire to expand their territories. The military has also been used by powerful organizations like the United Nations to settle conflicts like the civil wars in Eastern Europe and Africa.

The military, however, is also evolving. Nowadays, the military does not only ward off threats against an opposing force, but also helps in the development and national defence of a certain country. During disasters and natural calamities, the military are often called to assist civilians or bring aid to a trapped community.

The military is not a boring subject to discuss in essays. One, however, needs to check facts when writing a military essay.

Coursework: Tips for Writing a Quality One

One of the challenges that a student will face in the university or college is doing a coursework.  A coursework is any work done by students in a university or college that makes up a part of their final grades. Professors and teachers usually assess a coursework separately from periodic or final examinations. In the United Kingdom, professors and teachers have been assigning coursework both to educate and to assess their students. That is why students should not take their assigned coursework for granted. They need to make sure that they write UK coursework that are of good quality.

Here are some pointers and tips that could help students write quality coursework.

·         The most important thing in doing a coursework is following instructions given by the students’ professors or teachers. Instructions are not given to oppress or make the academic life harder for students; rather they are provided in order to guide and help them to write quality essays. The workplace is a demanding world, and the school prepares students to become good workers. Thus, students should learn obedience and cooperation while in school as preparation for the working world.

·         Students should take note of the following details that are usually part of the instructions given. These details include but not limited to the UK coursework type; the structure and format; the paper type and size; and the submission deadline.

·         After receiving the instructions and taking note of them, students should then proceed to planning the tasks and activities involved in the coursework. Students should plan out well what materials to use, the information sources, research methodology and the content of the UK coursework.

·         Students should always draft an outline first before writing the actual coursework. The outline will allow the students to organize their ideas and the gathered information into a coherent composition.

·         After writing the coursework, students should always review and proofread their academic project. Reviewing and proofreading will allow students to notice spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes, and rectify them accordingly. This would result in a coursework that is void of errors.
